Responding to Responses - With an Amazingly Redundant Title

in Adventures of the Author

Thank you to everyone who responded to my random question, you have given me a lot to think about.

Not the least of which is, despite our obvious differences, how alike we really are.

Like Chris C. I am thinking of one day writing a column.

Like R. J. I am looking for a part time job to keep me afloat as I write.

Like Whit I could spend 10 hours a day on this blog (the difference being that I would still be broke.)

Like Lisa my blog is ad-free and hopefully more enjoyable because of it.

Unlike Howard I have not written for a gay magazine. In fact, all the magazines I am acquainted with are straight. However, I do like music.

Like Chris Non-C and the Frogster I have decided to stay away from penny-ante “publishers” like AC and Helium.

Like Karl Wolfbrooks…wait a minute, I am NOTHING like Karl Wolfbrooks, although he does have a fetching mustache.

Like Jovir I haven’t had a lot of time to spend on this blog. At least until my recent “surprise retirement.” Now that I have nothing but time, I still manage to not devote it to this site. Frankly, I disgust me.

Anyway, thank you to everyone. You have given me some good ideas and a tiny smattering of hope.

I am going to keep on writing, and I suggest that all of you do the same.

Except for Dave Berry, he just needs to stop before he injures himself.

Thank you and Happy Friday.
-Brent

Hehe, I feel like the Sesame Street short, “One of these things is not like the others”.

Before we unexpectedly left San Francisco I was talking to one of the gay papers there (a friend of mine wrote for it) about doing a column about living in the Castro (on a per square-foot basis, the gayest neighborhood in the gayest city in the country) from a straight guy’s point of view. I loved it there and miss it terribly. But we left, so, unlike Howard, I remain one of “the others.”

I wish you all the best with your literary endeavours, Mr. Brent.

I myself hope to have my adventures preserved for posterity in between two covers of a book. Hard-backed, naturally, with a stiff spine.

Um, I missed this post and I’m in it! Hey, I have some part-time job ideas for you on my latest post!

Thanks RJ, I’ll check it out.
